Building Readers in Just 15 Minutes a Day
Dyad reading is a cooperative peer-assisted reading strategy; a strong reader and a struggling reader sit side by side and read aloud from a challenging text in unison for 15 minutes each day. With over 50 years of research, the Dyad reading method has been shown to promote literacy skills by incorporating sight and sound multisensory experience. We will briefly highlight the evidence for this strategy and its average impact of 2-3 years of reading growth on student outcomes in one year. This session will train participants on how to implement Dyad reading with in their schools.
